My Journey of Transforming My Skin From The Inside Out

Eczema (atopic dermatitis), and other auto-immune diseases, present daily struggles for millions of people. It is very common, however, it’s still considered to have no cure. There are hundreds to thousands of “quick-fixes” online like at-home remedies, creams, ointments, oils and gels that are raved about, and a whole lot of mixed reviews about them all. In this fast-paced world, we often look for the quickest treatment but it doesn’t always get us the long-term cure we actually want. It wasn’t until I looked inside that I realized no external treatment would ever get me to my goal of clear skin. I had to put in the work and heal my gut first.

To give some background, I was born with eczema covering my entire body so I’ve had extremely sensitive skin my whole life. I’d say I pretty much grew out of it by around the age of 8, with little flare-ups here and there. By the 6th or 7th grade I developed an allergic reaction to a Blistex product I used to treat chapped lips that spread all around my mouth. I saw multiple doctors at different walk-in clinics, who each prescribed me with a different prescription that didn’t work, in fact, they all made it worse. Finally, I saw my family doctor who prescribed me with a high percentage hydrocortisone cream. This worked miracles! It got rid of the reaction in a matter of days…or so I thought.
